From today’s perspective, it’s easy to say that if the Pontiac G8 GT came out five years ago, General Motors wouldn’t be in the precarious financial position it is in today. That’s not going to stop us from saying it anyway.

The G8 GT is big, comfortable, powerful, and it handles better than any large sedan from an American company ever has. This is probably because it is built in Australia, but we won’t hold that against it.

If you could ignore the V-8 gas mileage, it wouldn’t be hard to imagine the G8 GT being the best selling car in America. Wait, gas is cheap again? Where’s the closest Pontiac dealer? They closed it?! Darn.

Buying American never felt so foreign.
