Yea, an SUV made the list. A diesel SUV, no less. We can’t believe it either.
Is it because the Mercedes-Benz GL320 BlueTEC is fun to drive? Maybe if we lived near the Gobi Desert instead of in the biggest city in America, we could answer that question. As it stands, the GL320 is nothing short of a fuel efficient leather swathed parlor on wheels.
The interior is so well appointed, the driving experience so effortless, that you could be forgiven for thinking that you’re sitting in front of the TV watching a movie about a dull trip down the interstate.

Snap out of that haze and you’ll find that the same air suspension that makes the GL320 comfortable also makes it as sure footed as a large llama, while the meaty engine moves it around like there’s an angry rhinoceros pushing from behind. No smoke from the tailpipe either. This diesel is as clean as they come.
Now if someone could just raise the price of gasoline again, Mercedes-Benz would be on easy street.
