Prosecutors have rested their case against five men accused of planning to kill soldiers at New Jersey's Fort Dix.
Defense lawyers said Tuesday that they would call only a few witnesses the next day. That clears the way for closing arguments to begin early next week.
The defendants are not expected to testify. Deliberations could begin as early as Dec. 16.
The suspects are foreign-born Muslim men who spent years in the comfortable Philadelphia suburb of Cherry Hill.
The charges include attempted murder and conspiracy to kill military personnel. If convicted, they could be sentenced to life in prison.
Prosecutors have spent 25 days presenting evidence.
