Separated from her boyfriend, Australian actress Brooke Satchwell hid herself in a bathroom closet in Mumbai’s Taj Mahal while terrorists stormed the hotel, killing foreigners and taking hostages Wednesday.

Satchwell, 28, who is best known for her role in the Australian soap opera "Neighbours," remained in the ground floor-level closet for about an hour. She was released by hotel staff and had to step over bodies of shooting victims on her way out of the burning Mumbai hotel, the Australian reported.

She later returned to the hotel for her passport and phone charger, according to her publicist, Sarah Linsten, while hostages were still being held.

"She was one of the few [to get out of the country] — I don't know how that happened, I don't know how they got out," Linsten told the Australian.

Satchwell was staying at the Taj with friends and her boyfriend, film editor David Gross, Reuters reported. The couple left India on a flight for Singapore, according to the Australian.
