Britney Spears has waited a long time to tell her side of the story about the chaotic last few years of her life, but now she is ready to “set the record straight,” according to MTV.

In a new 90 minute documentary set to air on Nov. 30, the singer is opening up about everything from her new album to her mental breakdown.

According to People magazine, since her breakdown, Spears, 26, says her life has been worse than a jail sentence.

“Even when you go to jail, y’know, there’s the time when you’re gonna get out. But in this situation, it’s never ending. It’s just like [the Bill Murray movie] ‘Groundhog Day,’” People quoted Spears as saying.

Spears, who in January underwent a mental evaluation, lost custody of her two sons, as well as control of her affairs, People said.

“I sit there and I’ll look back and Im like, ‘I’m a smart person. Like what the hell was I thinkin?’” she says in an MTV promotion for the documentary.

But she has spent the last few months steadily working on a comeback, and with her new album “Circus” due in stores in December, she allowed a camera crew to document her road to recovery.

“I wanted to make this film because I started to feel like I wasn’t being seen in the light that I wanted to be seen in,” People quote Spears as saying.. “This is an opportunity to set the record straight and talk about what I have been through and where I’m headed.”

But through it all, Spears says that she never stopped loving her work.

“It never stopped being fun for me,” she said. “I really always liked what I did.”
