An Australian teenager was rushed to hospital with scissors embedded in his forehead.

The 15-year-old was hit after the scissors were apparently flung across a room.

Paramedics rushed to a home in Dubbo, a city in the Central West Region of New South Wales, after receiving an emergency call overnight.

They took the boy to Dubbo Base Hospital with the scissors still in his forehead.

He has been treated and is in a serious condition.
