A woman and two children found slain in their Novi, Mich., home were killed two weeks before police discovered their bodies, according to federal court records.
Unemployed Indian-American computer programmer Lakshminivasa Rao Nerusu on Oct. 13 killed his wife, Jayalakshmi Nerusu, 37, and their 14-year-old daughter Tejasvi Nerusu and 12-year-old son Siva Kumar Nerusu, authorities said.
The 42-year-old has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder.
Nerusu was believed to be in India after buying a one-way ticket for a flight from Detroit Metropolitan Airport, The Detroit News reported, citing an FBI affidavit filed Wednesday. He left Oct. 14. The bodies were found on Oct. 27.
Police in Novi, a Detroit suburb, are working with the FBI on a search, the paper said.
