The body of a man reported missing two weeks ago was believed to have been found in an Australian river Saturday, wrapped in a rug and shot repeatedly with nails, Australia's Daily Telegraph newspaper reported.

Two children made the gruesome discovery while canoeing in the Georges River. While police have not yet identified the body, it's believed to be that of a Chinese man reported missing by a friend two weeks ago, The Telegraph reported.

The man had been shot up to 30 times with a nail gun in the head and chest, bound with electrical wires and wrapped in a rug, the paper reported.

The children who discovered the body were undergoing counseling, their families told the Telegraph. Police are investigating.
