PERUGIA, Italy – A judge in Italy has decided to keep U.S. student Amanda Knox and her former boyfriend in jail for trial in the death of her housemate.
The judge rejected defense requests Wednesday to grant house arrest to the 21-year-old Seattle woman and Raffaele Sollecito.
The two were indicted Tuesday, and another man convicted in the case, Rudy Guede, was sentenced to 30 years in prison.
Prosecutors say the three stabbed Meredith Kercher to death a year ago during sexual assault in the house the English student shared with Knox in the town of Perugia.
The trial is scheduled to begin on Dec. 4.
