A Hillsborourgh Sheriff's spokeswoman says a hospital patient stabbed an emergency room doctor with a steak knife, but the physician's injuries weren't life-threatening.
Hillsborourgh Sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said in a news release that 30-year-old Carolyn Faulk became angry when she was given a discharge order at Brandon Regional Medical Center on Tuesday night. Faulk, of Plant City, stabbed Dr. Maribel Juarbe with a steak knife she pulled out of her purse.
A detention deputy who was at the hospital to visit a family member helped separate the Faulk and the doctor.
Carter said Faulk has been charged with attempted murder.
