Mexico's attorney general says police have arrested a senior figure in a powerful drug cartel.
Attorney General Eduardo Medina says Jesus Zambada was among 16 members of the Sinaloa drug cartel arrested after a shootout in Mexico City.
Medina says Zambada is the brother of Ismael Zambada, who allegedly heads the Sinaloa cartel along with one of Mexico's most wanted men, Joaquin Guzman.
Medina said Wednesday that Jesus Zambada was in charge of the cartel's operations in central Mexico, including cocaine and methamphetamine trafficking through the international airport in the capital.
He is also suspected in Feb. 15 failed bomb attack against a Mexico city police commander.
