LOS ANGELES – A-Rod All Smiles, Guy Ritchie Down-in-Dumps
Despite all the hoopla surrounding Alex Rodriguez being the "other man" in the divorce between Madonna and Guy Ritchie, the Yankee was all smiles while enjoying a night-out with the boys last Thursday.
Pop Tarts spies spotted A-Rod and his brother rolling up in a burgundy Bentley to New York’s Philippe Restaurant before heading to the pool area at Plunge at the Gansevoort South around 11pm. According to an eyewitness, the pair was joined by party promoter Michael Capponi in a private cabana where they kicked back with Cuban cigars.
"People were whispering and staring," said an onlooker. "But A-Rod didn’t seem the slightest bit concerned."
Meanwhile Guy Ritchie is reportedly suffering quite a bit since he and Madonna announced their divorce last week. An eyewitness on the London set of his current project, Sherlock Holmes, said that Richie is being flanked with "extra security" in an attempt to shield him from the public eye and the cast and crew are quite concerned.
"He is just very tired and very drained," added our spy.
Trick or Trash? Popular Mainstream Nightclub Offers Free Boob Job for Halloween
Forget picking up a pumpkin (or two) this Halloween, popular Las Vegas hotspot Torrid at Hawaiian Tropic Zone is offering one err, lucky woman the chance to trick and treat her way to a new set of breasts.
The club announced on Monday that it would be holding a "Booooob Party" to celebrate Halloween next Thursday where women 21 and over (men are not eligible) have 90 minutes to collect candy and put themselves up for the bust-boosting prize. The winner will be based on crowd reaction (in other words, bring all your friends) and according to the rules "lewd or lascivious behavior" will lead to disqualification.
The club also celebrated Independence Day this year by giving away a "free pair of implants" for its Red, White & Boobs bash and based on its success has decided to do it again.
Apparently this upcoming soiree is set to be a star-studded event, although the club declined to give exact names as the celeb list is not 100% confirmed.
While offering cosmetic surgery as a prize is not illegal in the United States it is considered a violation of ethics. The nation's two major plastic surgery groups — the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) — have policies in place to counter this and expect members to avoid offering surgeries as promotional prizes where an initial consultation by a doctor hasn't taken place.
Dr. Samir Pancholi, a doctor of osteopathics at Cosmetic Surgery of Las Vegas (who is actually certified by the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery) is the surgeon behind the grand prize, but insisted that the winner is by no means obligated to go through with the surgical procedure.
"We didn't want to be part of something that would be considered ethically inappropriate so basically it can be used as a cash prize and the winner can use it on anything they want," said Pancholi. "They are not obligated to spend it on the boob job, but the option is there for them to use the money towards this."
According to Pancholi, two other practices in Vegas have been involved in similar promotions in recent times. So in our culture already saturated with unrealistic body images, where does one draw the line when it comes to parties and the promotion of plastic?
Report: Julianne Hough Dumps Wilson For Wicks
She's an All-American sweetheart, but "Dancing With the Stars" sensation and country crooner Julianne Hough has reportedly struck up quite the romantic relationship with her touring partner, Chuck Wicks.
We're told the two have been dating since June and that Julianne ditched her former fiance, "Dance War" contestant Zack Wilson to be with the 29-year-old Delaware native.
"Zack was so upset he went to Thailand for six weeks so he didn't have to hear about them and their tour," added our insider.
Wilson and Hough got engaged last year but soon later announced they had postponed their immediate plans to wed and have obviously since swung their separate ways.
Kelly Osbourne Engaged?
They might not be considered the most functional family, but the entire Osbourne clan (including Kelly, Sharon, Jack and the rarely-seen Aimee) turned up to the Galpin Auto Sports Grand Opening Party in Los Angeles on Saturday night to support daddy Ozzy's rocking performance.
But we aren't exactly sure how much of the show daughter Kelly watched as she seemed a little more immersed in her model beau, Luke Worell. The pair couldn't contain their very obvious affection and the suddenly super-slim Osbourne was overheard telling pals that she had just moved back to L.A permanently to be with Worell.
Kelly was even sporting a sparkling diamond on her left hand, and a pal hinted to Tarts that this may very well be the 23-year-old's way of disguising her engagement.
Audrina Patridge was also spotted getting down and dirty until the early hours. "The Hills" hottie was having one last hoorah with her galpals before departing for Pennsylvania on Sunday where she will spend the next few weeks filming the horror "Sorority Row" with Rumer Willis and Carrie Fisher.
Meanwhile Justin Timberlake and girlfriend Jessica Biel spent the weekend in Vegas and when the former N'Sync star wasn't wooing the crowds he was apparently canoodling with who pals predict to be his future wife.
Despite being totally exhausted following his sellout charity concert on Friday night, Timberlake still made a hearty appearance at the Official After Party at Sin City hotspot, Prive. We're told Justin and Jessica arrived hand-in-hand at around 1.30am and couldn't wait to get into their VIP booth where they stayed close (and declined even a sip of booze) before sneaking out around 3am.
An inside source told Tarts that the two have talked a lot about their future and it is simply a matter-of-time before the pop prince pops the question. Stay tuned.
