A school bus carrying 21 students and a pickup truck crashed in Illinois Tuesday, causing the bus to flip over and injuring several people.

Police said the wreck in the north-central part of the state resulted in several injuries, but none of them appeared to be life-threatening. The truck caught fire and the bus rolled onto its side.

LaSalle County Sheriff's Department spokesman Lt. William Evans said authorities responded to reports of an accident in the Northville area at around 10:45 a.m. Tuesday.

The wounded were taken to Valley West Community Hospital and Ottawa Regional Hospital, according to Evans.

It wasn't immediately known how many people were injured or what might have caused the crash. Evans said none of the injuries appear to be life-threatening.
