A large chunk of metal plummeted to earth from the sky and crushed one side of a car in New Jersey, The Jersey Journal reported.

The 20-pound piece of metal was found next to the vehicle, which was parked at a U.S. Postal Service mailing facility Monday. Jersey City police believe it fell from a passing plane, The Journal reported.

The passenger side of the vehicle was crushed.

Alfred Michaels had parked the rental car around 7:30 a.m., Police said. The Mentor, Ohio, resident returned at 9:45 a.m. and found the passenger-side and window smashed.

No one was injured.
