Cab Driver Charged With Raping Passenger

A Jacksonville cab driver raped a passenger he was supposed to be taking home from a sports bar, authorities said.

The victim told the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office that she had driven her own vehicle to the bar but decided to take a cab home. But when Keith Lorenzo James, 47, picked her up early Saturday morning, she said he drove her to an apartment complex instead of her home.

The sheriff's office said that James forced himself on the woman in a vacant apartment. She then walked back to the cab, and asked James to drive her home.

When she got home, she went to the apartment of a neighbor, who called police.

James told officers that he had consensual sex with the woman.

James was arrested and being held without bail.
