Iranians Eat Evidence of Record-Breaking Sandwich

Hungry onlookers may have nixed the chance for Iran to make the Guinness book of World Records with the largest sandwich, Reuters reported.

As the 1,500-meter-long sandwich, stuffed with ostrich meat and chicken, was being measured while on display in a Tehran park, people rushed forward and started to eat it, according to Reuters.

But, event organizers were hopeful the sandwich would still make the record books, because video footage of the sandwich was going to be sent to Guinness officials.

"We still think the sandwich will be recorded in the Guinness book because of all the evidence and footage that we will send them," Parvin Shariati told Reuters.
