A minor earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.0 shook the northern Nevada desert near Carlin early Wednesday.
The University of Nevada, Reno seismology lab says the quake was recorded at 7:11 a.m. and was centered about 7 miles northeast of Carlin.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
