OPELIKA, Ala. – Veterinary clinics in Auburn and Opelika are trying to fulfill an anonymous woman's last request to find new homes for her 32 cats.
The cats were found in containers and carriers on the doorsteps of at least five vet clinics in Auburn and Opelika.
A handwritten note signed by a mysterious "Miss R" explained that she had just learned she was dying from cancer.
The woman wrote that her time was very short and she needed to find homes for her feline family.
She wrote "Please do not kill!" in all capital letters on each of the containers along with each cat's name, description, age and medical summary.
She asks the vets to let the cats know how special they are and says she hopes to be with them again one day in heaven.
