A Wisconsin school district has banned children from bringing in cupcakes or candy to share with other students as a treat, WTMJ Radio is reporting.

The Neenah School District forbid students from being unhealthy treats to share with children and ruled that kids must bring fruits, vegetables and other healthy snacks instead.

But some parents and officials are skeptical about the decision and wonder if it will be effective.

WTMJ interviewed Vicki Denzin, a parent in the district, who said she wonders how excited kids will get about passing out healthier snacks like carrot sticks or bananas to their classmates and friends.
