ST. LOUIS – Eight St. Louis firefighters were injured Friday after two fire trucks collided while responding to a call.
None of the injuries are life-threatening, but the firefighters have been taken to area hospitals, Fire officials said.
Construction worker Mark Kay told KMOV-TV he was working on sidewalks near the intersection when he and co-workers heard the fire trucks' sirens.
He spotted a bystander who tried to gesture to a truck racing southbound that another truck was headed eastbound at the intersection.
One of the trucks hit the other, causing the second pumper to flip onto its side. Kay and his co-workers ran to help.
Kay said all the firefighters in the flipped vehicle appeared to be injured. He said the driver was pinned behind the wheel.Click here for more on this story from MyFOXStLouis.com.
