An Espanola police officer is under investigation for allegedly keeping a nude photo of a 15-year-old boy on his cell phone.
Deputy Espanola Police Chief Larry Ham says 34-year-old Jeffrey B. Martinez is on paid administrative leave and has been notified that he will be dismissed from the police force.
Espanola police say Martinez hasn't been arrested or charged with a crime.
State police are handling the investigation.
Efforts to reach Martinez for comment yesterday were unsuccessful.
Court records state an anonymous source told police about an image on Martinez's cell phone of a boy lying naked on a bed and exposing himself.
Court records state the boy told police he sent the photo after Martinez, a school resource officer, requested it.
