A former U.S. Olympic official has asked a Connecticut court for a special form of probation that could lead to dismissal of child pornography charges.
John Krimsky was charged in December with promoting a minor in an obscene performance, possession of child pornography and attempted possession of child pornography.
He has pleaded not guilty but he asked a judge on Friday for a procedure called accelerated rehabilitation, a form of probation. After the probation period a defendant's record may be erased.
Court filings on his request are due Sept. 12.
The 69-year-old Southbury, Conn., resigned as a marketing chief for the U.S. Olympic Committee shortly after his arrest.
