Two teenagers have been charged in connection with the shooting of a Pasco County sheriff's deputy who was saved by the metal business card holder in his breast pocket.

The 15 and 16-year-old boys were charged Monday with armed burglary business. No other charges have been filed.

Authorities say the two admitted to forcing their way into a store last week in the southwest Florida town of Lacoochee. Authorities said a suspect fired several shots from inside as two deputies were approaching.

Deputy Jeffrey Chandler was hit in the chest area. Officials say the bullet was slowed after passing through the store's front glass window and metal shield that covered the glass. Chandler was wearing a bulletproof vest, but the bullet was stopped by the card holder.
