WASHINGTON – A Maryland teenager stands accused of turning a remote field in Rock Creek Park into a marijuana farm.
Nineteen-year-old Isiah Johnson was arrested Wednesday at his home in Chevy Chase.
U.S. Park Police say a National Park Service employee discovered the marijuana plants while tracking a box turtle outfitted with GPS for research purposes. Police then set up surveillance. They say they caught Johnson tending about 10 plants.
The teenager has been charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
