A Perry man has been arrested after leading authorities from five departments on a high-speed, 20-mile long chase.

Fermin Jaimes was eventually caught on Tuesday by Boone County deputies. But not before he led officials from the State Patrol, Dallas County, Ogden Police, Perry Police and Boone County on a route that reached 70 miles per hour on paved and gravel roads.

Authorities say they tried so-called stop sticks three times after receiving a report around 9 a.m. on Tuesday that a car allegedly driven by Jaimes was trying to run someone off the road. Authorities say they only succeeded at stopping him when they boxed him in.

Jaimes has been charged with aggravated eluding and two charges of assault on a peace officer as well as other traffic violations.
