NEW YORK – The FBI confiscated personal journals belonging to "Get Smart" star Anne Hathaway and other personal items during a raid on ex-boyfriend Raffaello Follieri's apartment, the New York Daily News reports.
Along with the actress's personal diaries, agents reportedly confiscated documents, photos of Follieri with Bill and Hillary Clinton, Pope John Paul II and John and Cindy McCain, watches, a Tiffany clock, an antique Bible and personal photos of Follieri and Hathaway.
A source close to Follieri told the Daily News the Italian businessman is "doing very badly. He says people are abusing him. He’s a broken man.” Follieri has reportedly been hospitalized for an anxiety attack while in jail, and has been trying to contact his ex-girlfriend — to no avail.
“She’s changed her numbers so he can’t reach her,” says a friend. “Raffaello has been trying to call her all the time.”
Last week, prosecutors told the New York Post that Follieri, who was arrested in June on charges of money laundering and wire fraud, was considering a plea deal. A source told the Daily News that he may take the plea because "he may have no money and the feds may have him so scared that he thinks this is his best shot.”
