Scotland's government has approved plans to build Europe's largest onshore wind farm.
Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond says the 152-turbine Clyde wind farm near Abington, about 40 miles southeast of Glasgow, will be capable of powering up to 320,000 homes.
Salmond said Monday the project would generate a total of 548 megawatts, surpassing the planned Whitelee wind farm currently under construction south of Glasgow.
Whitelee is projected to have a generating capacity of 322 megawatts.
Scotland's government says the biggest working onshore wind farm in Europe is the Maranchon wind farm in Guadalajara, Spain, with a capacity of 208 megawatts.
