We spoke to Decia Lazarian, District Manager at Intermix, about what it's like to work at one of the hottest boutiques in the country.

Q: What does being a district manager entail?

A: I am ultimately responsible for driving the business of our eight New York stores. My responsibilities also include merchandising, hiring, payroll budgets, operations, coaching, counseling, and ensuring the best customer service possible.

Q: How many people do you manage at Intermix?

A: Approximately 110 people

Q: What's the best part about being the district manager at Intermix?

A: Every day is colorful and different. I never know what to expect or what is about to come my way. It's exciting and challenging but always rewarding.

Q: What advice would you give to managers?

A:Always be positive and put your best foot forward. Be open.

Q: What's the hardest part about being a manager?

A: Balancing my time.

Q: How did you work your way up to being district manager?

A: I stayed close to the right people absorbing and learning everything I could. When it clicked in my head that I was ready for the challenge of being a District Manager at Intermix the opportunity presented itself.

Q: What's the best lesson you've learned on the job?

A: Be flexible, patient and open. Love fully what you do.
