Three reporters were shot by a police officer who accidentally discharged a weapon at a Sichuan province police press conference on gun safety, the Australian reported on Friday.

The journalists asked to photograph illegal guns seized by China’s police, according to the report. One of the police officers fumbled and dropped a homemade weapon, shooting three of the reporters.

None died, but one of the shooting victims required surgery for wounds to the ankle, chest and crotch, according to the Australian.
