Residents at The Villages want their buffalo back.

Buffalo gazing was a popular pastime at the central Florida retirement community, but residents are angry after a developer decided to remove his popular herd from public view.

The Villages Homeowners Association President Roger Kass said there were ongoing problems with spectators approaching the buffaloes and ignoring warning signs.

Three incidents led to potential legal action because of injuries caused by the buffaloes, he said.

The animals still live in The Villages, but they're roaming in more remote locations where they can't be seen.
