NEW YORK – Jessica Simpson was "deeply hurt and upset at the comments" Pamela Anderson made about her in response to her wearing a "Real Girls Eat Meat" T-shirt, a source told The Sun.
"To say Jessica is mad about it is an understatement," a source close to Simpson said. "She is disgusted at Pamela's remarks and fully intended to go after her, until her family made her see sense."
The source went on to say that Simpson's parents told her responding to the comments would only "get Pamela the press she's so desperate for."
Last week, Anderson called Simpson a "b-tch" and a "whore" on an Australian radio show, demeaning Simpson for wearing a "Real Girls Eat Meat" T-shirt.
Anderson is a vegetarian and spokeswoman for animal-rights group PETA.
