Bad Economy Cited as Factor in 40 Percent of Minnesota Abortions

Many women who had abortions in Minnesota last year cited the bad economy as one of the reasons for their decisions, MyFox Twin Cities reported.

More than 13,800 abortions were performed in Minnesota in 2007, according to a state report. Forty percent of women cited economic concerns as the reason for their abortions.

The economic citation is the largest share since Minnesota started collecting detailed abortion information a decade ago.
