American Airlines Flight Returns to Airport Because of Fumes in Cockpit

Passengers of a flight that had to return to Miami International Airport because of fumes in the cockpit are being transferred to another plane.

American Airlines flight 2107 left with 186 passengers at 8:32 a.m. Thursday. Officials say the plane turned around when passengers and crew smelled odor inside. It's not clear what caused the smell.

The plane was headed to Caracas. An airline spokeswoman says it turned around and landed safely at 9:03 a.m.

The Federal Aviation Administration and American say no one was injured
