LOS ANGELES – "The Incredible Hulk" is seeing a lot of green after bruising its way to the top spot at the box-office over the weekend.
The second recent flick about the scientist who turns into the muscle-bound Hulk when angered took in 54.5 million dollars in its debut weekend.
Studio chiefs hope this version of the Hulk does better than 2003's "Hulk." That movie made more than 62 million dollars in its opening weekend, but dropped off sharply in following weeks amid bad word of mouth.
"Kung Fu Panda" took in more than 34 million dollars in second place.
Director M. Night Shyamalan (SHAH'-mah-lahn) has rebounded from 2006's disappointing "Lady in the Water" with "The Happening." It opened in third place with 30.5 million.
"You Don't Mess With the Zohan" and the latest "Indiana Jones" movie round out the top five.
