Dallas police are hunting a 27-year-old suspect whom they say shot a co-worker and the co-worker's family Wednesday after arriving to pick up the co-worker for work.

The suspect arrived about 7 a.m. Wednesday at the house near Interstate 20 and St. Augustine Road in far southeastern Dallas, Sgt. Gil Cerda, a Dallas police spokesman, said. After an argument erupted between the two men, the driver shot the co-worker, his 37-year-old wife and her 22-year-old son. He then fled, but abandoned his car a few blocks away.

The identities of the suspect and the victims were not released.

Police were searching for a motive Wednesday, but believe the suspect previously dated the wife, the Dallas Morning News reported.

Cerda also had no information on the conditions of the three at Dallas hospitals.
