The New York Giants' all-time quarterback sack leader Michael Strahan is retiring, according to FOXSports.com.

Strahan told FOXSports.com exclusively of his plans to call it quits just two days before the Giants head to mini-camp.

“It was important that my teammates knew which way I was going before they got on the field to start the work to defend our title,” he told FOXSports.com. “It’s time. I’m done.”

Strahan reportedly labored over the decision for two years, consulting with many high-profile retired players for their advice before deciding to end his career, FOXSports.com reports.
