Officials on Friday were searching for a 30-year-old California mother and her 3-year-old son after the pair disappeared Sunday on the way to church.

Marylou Mohr and her son, Harley, had driven to Orange County, Calif., to attend church but never arrived, though she was seen later in the day, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.

Her father-in-law saw her around 4:30 p.m. at an area gas station, the paper said.

Mohr and Harley last were seen in the company of two fellow churchgoers, Daniel Scott Barker, 28, and Alan Ray Jackson, 53, the paper said.

Riverside County Sheriff's Investigator Jerry Franchville said Mohr's cell phone and those belonging to the fellow churchgoers had been turned off, the Union-Tribune said.

"Barker did make a call from her [Mohr's] cell phone, which we thought was a little strange," he told the paper.

Mohr is 5 feet tall and weighs 180 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes. Harley is 3 feet tall and weighs 35 pounds, with blond hair and hazel eyes, the paper said.

Barker is 6 feet tall and weighs 225 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes, and Jackson also stands 6 feet tall and weighs 240 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes, according to the paper.
