Once a child advocate for neglected and abused children, a Texas man has been accused of sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl, and police say there may be more victims.
Billy Dan Carroll, 53, of Austin was arrested Sunday after the alleged victim, who was staying overnight at Carroll’s home on May 17, told police he blindfolded and sexually assaulted her after asking if she “wanted to play a game,” MyFOXAustin.com reported.
The victim reportedly told her older sister of the assault, and the victim’s guardian called police the next day.
Police believe that Carroll is a serial rapist who may have abused six other children, ages 3 to15, and two adults, MyFOXAustin.com reported.
Carroll was a court-appointed children’s advocate in Travis County. He is being held on $2 million bail.
