Oregon State Police say their investigation continues into the death of a man who jumped out of a moving Greyhound bus along Interstate 84 in The Dalles.

OSP Sergeant Pat Shortt says at about 3 a.m. Wednesday, the bus, with about 35 passengers, was westbound on Interstate 84 and going about 65 to 70 miles per hour.

The bus driver was unaware of what was happening until the man was in the process of jumping out as passengers were yelling to get the driver's attention.

Shortt says the 40-year-old opened a window and attempted to jump but another passenger pulled him back in. But within seconds he made a second attempt and jumped out onto the freeway shoulder.

Passengers described the man's behavior as irrational and unusual before he jumped.
