MIAMI – There's a slight chance for rain in central and South Florida, areas where firefighters have been battling dozens of wildfires for days.
But residents will continue to breath and smell the smoke Wednesday from the wildfire ripping through Everglades National Park. The other blazes are burning from Brevard County on the Atlantic coast south to Miami-Dade County.
A dense smoke advisory has been cancelled, with visibility improving since the early morning. The advisory alerts the public to low visibility that presents a hazard, mainly to drivers. But the National Weather Service says smoke will linger in the air.

Wildfires have also scorched thousands of acres of Lake Okeechobee. Drivers are warned that visibility will be reduced to a quarter mile or less.
