ST. PAUL, Minn. – Police in St. Paul say a pregnant woman delivered her baby after she was struck by a gunshot fired into her home.
Police spokesman Tom Walsh says the woman was 7 1/2 months pregnant. He says she and the baby are recovering at Regions Hospital and are expected to survive.
The shooting occurred around 1:20 a.m. Sunday. Police say a bullet struck both the woman and the fetus. The woman's boyfriend was also struck and is expected to survive. Their names have not been released.
Walsh says the shooting may be connected to a dispute earlier in the evening at the home. There have been no arrests.
Police say the shooter was on foot when the shots were fired.
