A Poultney teenager is facing charges after a small bomb exploded on school property last week, Vermont State Police said.
Edward Dematties, 18, was charged with placing a homemade explosive device, a plastic soda bottle filled with a chemical cleaning agent, on the Poultney High School bleachers. It exploded during an unrelated school fire drill.
No one was injured in the April 30 explosion, but police said school staff was nearby.
Dematties was charged with possession of a dangerous or deadly weapon on school property. He was cited to appear in court to face the charge.
