An Oakland man is dead and an elderly man in custody after a fatal shooting in Oakland last night that police say was sparked by a dispute between a tenant and his landlord.

Police say a 94-year-old man shot and killed his landlord Thursday night as the two argued in a store parking lot on East 12th Street.

After the shooting, the elderly man went into his home and refused to come out for officers.

After a standoff that lasted more than three hours, officers entered the suspect's house and were able to subdue him using a Taser stun gun.
