Former "Columbo" star Peter Falk was spotted waving his arms in the air and muttering to himself as he walked near his Beverly Hills home on Tuesday afternoon, the Daily Mail reported, citing photos.
The 80-year-old two-time Oscar nominee also had his belly sticking out of a two-sizes-too-small plaid shirt.
A passerby, who refused to be named, reportedly said the star looked to be disorientated.
Someone eventually called police, but when officers arrived on the scene, Falk reportedly convinced them that he didn't need help.
Falk became an international star when he appeared in the title role in the long-running TV series "Columbo" as the famously shabby and apparently absent-minded police detective. The role won him four Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe.
The actor played the detective over a 35-year span, beginning with the film "Prescription: Murder" in 1968. He also appeared in a series of serious film roles and played himself in the cult film "Wings of Desire."
The star is about to appear alongside Val Kilmer in an offbeat comedy about a heroin addict, entitled "Cowslip."
