California Launches Investigation into Deadly Grizzly Bear Attack

State work safety officials have opened an investigation into the fatal mauling of trainer by a grizzly bear at an exotic-animal center in Southern California.

Department of Industrial Relations spokeswoman Kate McGuire said Thursday that investigators will look for any violations of health and safety codes at Randy Miller's Predators in Action, which provides exotic animals for movies, TV shows and documentaries.

Thirty-nine-year-old Stephan Miller died Tuesday when a 700-pound, 7 1/2-foot tall grizzly bear name Rocky bit him in the neck. Miller, the cousin of the center's owner, was filming a promotional video with the bear at the time.
