The College of New Jersey will hold its commencement ceremony at Lions' Stadium even after elevated lead levels were found on the artificial turf there.

School spokesman Matt Golden says the contaminated turf is being removed. He says the school had the surface below tested no elevated lead levels were found.

Golden says the college is planning to install a new turf field, but isn't sure it can be completed in time for the May 16 ceremony. If it's not, the ceremony will take place on the stadium's asphalt subsurface.

Lions' Stadium and another artificial turf field in Hoboken were closed as a precaution last week after the state found lead levels up to 10 times higher than limits considered safe. Those fields were among 12 randomly tested around the state.
