Instead of smooth, hairless skin, an English woman walked away from laser hair surgery with second-degree burns and blisters, the Daily Mail reported.
Lured by advertisements that offered an alternative to waxing and shaving, as well as the recommendation of a friend, Paula Azevedo visited a London laser hair clinic last July.
She paid about $1,389 for the removal of hair on her arms, the 38-year-old investment banker told the Daily Mail.
She was left in excruciating pain and her left arm was covered in swollen, burning purple rings. She still has scars from the procedure and said the clinic has not apologized for the incident. She was offered a $291 refund from her original payment, it is reported.
Azevedo is taking legal action.
