Police say a Kanawha County, W.Va., middle school teacher helped her brother rob at least two banks.
Melissa April Brown, 28, and Jeremy Mark Brown, 24, were arrested Monday after allegedly robbing a Cabell County bank.
The criminal complaint says Jeremy Brown entered a bank near Barboursville, gave a teller a note indicating he had a gun, and left with about $4,257. He allegedly fled in a car driven by his sister and the two were captured a short time later.
The pair implicated themselves in the April 15 robbery of a Charleston bank, said Sgt. Steve Cooper of the Charleston Police Department, and are also under investigation for an April 1 bank robbery in St. Albans.
According to the Kanawha County schools Web site, Melissa Brown is a teacher at Stonewall Jackson Middle School, earning $31,556 a year.
Neither Melissa nor Jeremy Brown could immediately be reached for comment Tuesday and a call to the Kanawha County schools superintendent's office was not immediately returned.
