Police: Radioactive Substance Stolen in Japan

Police say a radioactive substance that can be used for a makeshift nuclear bomb was stolen in Japan, according to a report.

The substance in a sealed metal container was stolen Monday from a company near Tokyo that inspects industrial products. The container held iridium 192, an ingredient for a dirty bomb, the AFP reported.

A person wearing a baseball cap and work tunic was captured on a security camera leaving with the container, police say.

"Anyone who finds it, please don't get near it," the science ministry reported on its Web site. "Report it to a nearby police station."
