British police say they made one of the country's largest-ever heroin seizures by confiscating around 770 pounds of the drug.

London police arrested three people on suspicion of intent to supply the heroin.

Police said two of the men were arrested Thursday in a parking lot off a highway southeast of London after handling cardboard boxes full of heroin. They say a third man was arrested in East London in connection with the bust.

Police said in a statement Friday they had severely disrupted an organized crime network involved in the importation and distribution of drugs.
